The Luminarium is a tent exhibit by the
Architects of Air that was in Chicago at Belmont Harbor in late summer of 2010. It was a very unique experience because sunlight interacts with the translucent areas of the connected tents. This created some brilliant lighting effects. These images were taken with my cell phone camera which had problems capturing reds. They often came out purple which actually made the photos a little more interesting visually.
The selection of images above are some of the photos I've taken around Chicago in the last couple of years. Many of them were taken in 12/2011. The images of now gentrified Cabrini Green and the Westside were taken while I was shooting video for another project that highlighted gentrification and sub-standard living conditions some people live in. The image of the Groupon buidling parking lot is literally around the corner from the last remaining Cabrini Green buildings.
